Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They gained attention for their rebellious songs and punk-rock fashion. Though the group didn't have much success in the United States however they became extremely popular internationally. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was called 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford was absent from the scene for several years after both albums failed to be a huge success. The smash hit 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she was absent from the industry for several years. In 1995 she debuted "Black," and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
